About
With a background in nursing, working in healthcare has taught me the importance of patience, compassion, and staying judgment free, because you never know what someone is going through behind the scenes. I view counselling as an opportunity to walk alongside people and learn about their life and their struggles, working collaboratively as a team to examine problems, identify patterns, develop solutions, and plan for future success.
As a child of South Asian immigrants, I bring both lived and learned experience in cultural awareness to my practice. I have an intuitive understanding of how deeply culture can impact the way we see the world, and how navigating unique expectations, pressures, challenges, and values can shape and contribute to overall mental health.
My transition to therapy from nursing is rooted in a commitment to serving my community and promoting mental wellness in ways that feel actionable, accessible, and inclusive. Together, we can focus on identifying problematic patterns and dynamics, reframing, building healthier habits, and other skills to help you overcome challenges and be the best you.
A little more about me.
